Amplifying Voices through movies
Next Generation Storytellers has wrapped production on their slate of student films in Hampton, Virginia. Now, it’s time to celebrate those filmmakers and their stories!
The upcoming NGS Film Festival will showcase the short films that Hampton City High School students shot over the first two weeks of summer vacation.
Trent Garrett and Jacob Young, both actors and producers in Hollywood, co-founded the NGS Film Festival to complete the loop of the filmmaking process. A movie shared in a theater is the best way to celebrate a year long journey. And there is no better way to bring attention to these original Hampton stories, so that folks out in Hollywood take notice.
Also, out of the four films, one will be selected to play in the Virginia Film Festival, where cast and crew will be able to attend!
By giving the next generation of storytellers a platform for their voices to be heard, other communities are incentivized to join in on this transformative program.
Sept 29 - Oct 1 at the historic American Theatre in Phoebus.
